This is how your day looks like as a data engineer:

As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining our data infrastructure and solutions. Because we are a growing company, and are in the process of building our data infrastructure, you will face a lot of exciting challenges such as integrating new data sources and streaming data into our data landscape.

Your responsibilities as a Data Engineer on the team:

  • Design and implement data pipelines for collecting, processing and storing structured and unstructured data from various sources
  • Build and optimize data architectures and systems for maximum performance, scalability and reliability
  • Identify and deploy solutions for data quality, data governance and privacy compliance
  • Build and deploy batch and streaming data pipelines
  • Research new technologies and methodologies in data engineering and contribute to continuous improvement of our data infrastructure and processes
  • Collaborate with a team of experts to create new insights

These skills are essential as a Data Engineer:

  • You have a bachelor or master degree in Computer Science, Informatics or a related field
  • You have work experience as Data Engineer, Business Intelligence Consultant or are an ambitious young graduate with a passion for data
  • You have an analytical and structured mindset
  • You have no problem finding a common thread in large volumes of data
  • The ability to work autonomously as well as in a team and to take ownership of your work.
  • You have a good knowledge of (or want to learn more about):
    • Data modeling and dimensional modeling concepts
    • Microsoft Azure Cloud and Cloud Architecture
    • Monitoring and logging in Azure Cloud
    • Knowledge about Git and Azure DevOps is a plus
    • Knowledge about PowerBi is a plus
    • Good SQL knowledge
    • Building and deploying batch and streaming data pipelines
    • Streaming data
    • Sensor data
  • You like to stay on top of technological developments
  • You have an affinity with all aspects of the broad concept of facility management
